Kirill Golovchenko was born in 1974 in Odessa (Ukraine). 1999-2001 studied languages at Johannes Gutenberg University in Mainz (Germany) and photography and communication design at Hochschule Darmstadt from 2002-2007. Diploma for “7km – Feld der Wunder” (Prof. Barbara Klemm and Prof. Dr. Kris Scholz). Since 2008 represented by the Focus Agency. Since 2008 he has worked on photo projects documenting the change of lives in the process of transition from communism to capitalism for Museum Folkwang and the Wüstenrot Stiftung. Several books documenting his works have been published by various publishers, regular exhibitions of his works in galleries and museums in Germany and internationally, winner of numerous awards. His works have been featured in several major broadsheets and magazines. Lives in Mainz and Odessa.
